Plexcoin: who are you?

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

I was delighted with an advert for the launch of Plexcoin which appeared in my Facebook feed today. A proper wow moment, promises of lucrative ROI gains, low joining fees and in essence a good business model.
My next step is to sign up and find the white paper. Having just read through a paper short on depth (apparently it is written in a simplistic style for people like myself) and with grammatical errors which make mine appear pretty tame, I ask the question of the credibility of this organisation?
Why would any start up wish to stay anonymous other than to deceive. Most crave media attention and brilliant communication.
Having explored more comments on Steem I see many share the view that this us a very dubious start up.
Surely it is now the time for Plexcoin to reveal themselves to the world! Even go respond to my comments.

They very much sound like a scam. Or at least, they ain't like it. They have increased the deadline for stage 1 sale without any notice. The got banned in several provinces in Canada and banned in USA. Now with China ban they can't sell to Chinese buyers. Even if they were legit, they'd still most likely fail. But they are not legit, especially, staying behind the shadows. Nobody can legit promise 1300+% ROI in such a short time which they have.

I invested in Plexcoin.
and the thing is, they collected 94% of the funds they wanted
it's almost $2,8 millions

I hope your investment makes a good return for you. I have been meaning to write a post about PlexCoin listing all my concerns and doubts. I just published it on Steemit. Would you care to read my post and give me your feedback? Let's have a healthy discussion. :)

Have you had any news from Plex coin yet? I hope it is legit, I chose not to invest as there are so many worrying issues.

I'm just holding what I have now for the next 2-3 years. This is my plan.
All I can see now - 25175 people already invested with total of US$3,331,382.36
If the numbers are true or not - I've no idea, but the last time I checked information about their receiving wallet, I've seen at least $2,5 millions coming their way.
So, do I feel bad about investing in Plexcoin? Nope, not even close to that

If you're interested in all I think about Plexcoin, read the comments to this post https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@alien45/plexcoin-a-scam-plexcorps-or-plexcorpse

Will do stuffy. It is interesting as it sounds such a great concept.

the concept itself is not great at all. https://www.mona.co is already working project with same concept.

@ndc6673 I too was very excited at the beginning about PlexCoin. But a little bit of digging made me really disappointed. I have just published it on Steemit regarding the red flags about PlexCoin. Would you care to read my post and give me your feedback? Let's have a healthy discussion. :)

hey =)
Speaking about VISA and Plexcoin, you remember that issue?
They removed the word "VISA" from all their pictures =)

Still, the main reason why I believe in Plexcoin now - it will be too stupid not to use $3.3 millions for creating some serious business and running away with these money.

Give me that amount and I will definitely build some sustainable and long-term business so it will feed me the rest of my life.

I noticed the removal of the visa logo around the first week of September. They just silently removed it, without any announcement on their website or Facebook pages. A legit team would at least say something about it to it's investors. This was one of the big factors I didn't feel throwing a penny of my hard earned money. If they have actually raised 3.3mil,it would be a decent enough money to run a business. But in the eyes of a scammer, running a business and making it successful is tough and way too risky. As you said, 99% of startups fail. So why would a scammer take that 0.xx% chance? It's just easier to take the money and runaway, don't you think?

Despite all the negativity I really do hope they come out as legit. Their idea, even though alternatives already exists, is good. Especially, if they can eliminate the onboarding of new users and remove all the delay and annoying verification process, it will help increase the adoption of cryptocurrency in general.

I said 90-95% startups fail. This is statistics in the last 30-40 years.
According to what I've read, $ 3,3 mil is not really enough to what they plan to do.
I think, they had to remove VISA word fro their pictures as VISA threatened to sue them and that's why they did it fast and silent. That's normal.

But in the eyes of a scammer, running a business and making it successful is tough and way too risky.

Well, you see? Scammers normally don't care about deep research to be made (as deep as whaproject did) and they come up with "super awesome unbelievably cool and flashy idea" unlike Plexcoin.

Scammers ask everything at once, they advertise it as much as possible because they spend everything they have on ads, not research.

How Plexcoin is different? They just took the idea that works (last successful project with this idea - www.mona.co) and they are not spending lots of money on ads, they actually DO something behind the scenes (I just hope so)

It's just easier to take the money and runaway, don't you think?

People do that with investments in fiat =) It's extremely easy to do with cryptocurrency. But some projects still live.

Once again, if you invest anything anywhere, you must be ready to lose all these money first of all. Every investment I make - I consider this money to be thrown away even before I press "send" button.

Every investment I make - I consider this money to be thrown away even before I press "send" button.

I understand your sentiment @stuffy but with some homework you can hopefully avoid throwing good money at bad investments. Like alien45 I hope this is legitimate but all of the issues raised in posts regarding the identities and the returns make it sound like a scam.

I invested only few times so far, none of them turned out to be bad investment.
And you know the real difference between scam and real project?
There's no real difference, except that scam always tries to show themselves as the really solid and serious project. Serious projects spend more time on actually thinking how to make their idea live rather than trying to prove that they are serious and solid company =)
But people trust "solid projects" more. It's sad, that good projects are normally undervalued.

Check this out - whaproject.com
Read their whitepaper, what do you see there?
I can see that their idea is just awesome and revolutionary, I can see that they know how to monetize their idea. I see that they know how to implement it. But I see lack of advertising as well. Because, as I think, they've spent all the money on research and planning. It will be sad if their idea won't become very popular. I'm really following them as I will invest in that project for sure.

But I also see that their project attracted interest of some serious possible investor (at least I hope that it's as I see this)
Guy's name - Vince Kuraitis
Principal of this company - http://e-caremanagement.com/

So, awesome idea got announced, not advertised, and found it's investors in short period of time.
Will they advertise it any further? I don't think so - why would they if they already have investor?
I'm planning to invest in that project, I just hope I have time to do this on pre-sale when their token will cost nothing and they will even give extra 20% in the first day.

I actually found them here, on steemit
check @whaproject user

This looks a pretty interesting investment at present. I have been trying to gain more background. Will definitely check back on this #ico.

regarding the identities

Do you trust in Bitcoin?
Do you know, who created it? some mythical Satoshi Something that nobody ever seen? =)

Interesting thought. No I do not 'trust' bitcoin but it us a legitimate crypto which at present is listed on the exchanges, can be traded, with a track record. Who knows who created it, I certainly do not.
I know plex coin claim to need to hide their identities but if this ICO is legit, why not have a marketing team to answer questions?
Why are they making false promises with attachments to visa?
My senses tell me there are plenty of start ups to choose from and this one raised too many negative issues.

don't you think that only scammers make everything perfect? ;)

I think that they are just not professionals in asking for money =)
scam projects are made by professionals in asking for money.
That's my logics.
there's nothing strange with VISA - they decided to put VISA logo on their pictures. But they need lots of money to get VISA permission to even use that logo or claim that VISA approved that it will work with plexcoin. Obviously, when people started asking VISA about plexcoin, VISA had no idea about their plexcoin's plans
After VISA got requested about Plexcoin, I guess, they wrote them a letter, telling that they have no right to use VISA logo on their pictures. So they deleted it.
That's all just fine with me. Scammers will just leave VISA logo because they don't give a shit about working later on.
Am I right?
