the act of mining through a browser isn't illegal yet, but be aware of the actions you take since its a grey area.
additionally, the following example and referral links will USE your CPU power to mine, certain browser add-on's

mining web page is open, or a proof-of-work captcha is activated.

Step 1:
make a user at coinhive(browser mining service)

(this redirection contains proof of work captcha)

Step 2:
get a service to host your webpage.
it can be payed for or a free service what ever you choose.

my suggestion is 000webhost (free service)

step 3:
create an empty html file on the hosting named "miner.html"

Step 4:
Right Mouse click on "miner.html" and click "view"

Step 5:
Save the URL (copy)

Step 6:
Go to coinhive
click on shortlinks
make a new shortlink with the adress you saved (miner.html URL)
set the hash-rate to 256

test your newly created link to see if it redirects you to miner.html on your site, after it finished proof-of-work.

step 7:
edit "miner.html"

and paste the following html code:

replace the short link with yours

SAVE!

check if it works, you should get the following result(an actual example):

https://coinmaina.000webhostapp.com/miner.html

the short-link is in a loop, and redirects to it-self.
as long as its open, it will mine.
check how many hashes you get on the coinhive short-link counter while you leave the miner open.

step 8:

embed the miner in an actual webpage with content, to make the user stay and mine for you.
you will embed the code using an "iframe"

if the content web page is not on the same host / folder as the "miner"
