RE: Surviving Crypto Winter

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago (edited)

Nice metaphor for a crypto winter 👍

But is this a crypto winter? If you created a portfolio at alltime highs.. sure it feels like that. If you were invested before your portfolio should be far above your initial investment (Jan 2017). If you have a mix maybe you are on par.

I wrote about the dilution in the whole market. Each day new cryptos arriving and take the attention of people and maybe many dump their "boring" coins for new candy. The market cap is still relatively high with $300 billion compared to Jan 2017 with $18 billion. My educated guess is we see a ongoing dilution or distribution among more and more emerging cryptos.

My long term bet is about fundamentals. Currently all the candy is too sweet for many and we have to wait which projects show real products and progress and then we see a wipeout of all the crappy coins who are currently so exciting for many people. Over time value is concentrated among the true useful projects but needs months and years to get visible.

First off, thanks man :).
About Crypto Winter, yes I believe this is Winter at the moment, I also believe that last year was Winter around the same time. The market cap keeps growing every year and yes the market needs time to "mature". I also believe that we are headed towards a moment where we have to say goodbye to all the shitcoins so that the coins with potential can grow but I don't see that happening yet. I think (pure guessing) that the market will keep dragging until october than start to go up, peak in Dec-Jan and then drop again....but this is just speculation from me.
