RE: What is NEM? A great investment opportunity, that's what!

in #cryptocurrency8 years ago

Seems like a unique branch off of NXT but its valuation is so high that I'd rather sell XEM tokens than buy them right now. With 9B tokens out there, my only thought is a lot of the supply is sitting on dead/lost accounts.

Sort:

I don't think the supply has anything to do with the value that is sitting lost somewhere. I think it's all about the money that people invested in that currency. I'm pretty sure that the total BTC that is lost right now is worth a lot more than the total XEM that is lost.

They way the NEM network rewards people for keeping it ongoing requires nodes to keep some tokens on their wallets.

There is also Catapult, the evolution of the network which will introduce improvements that were done on the Mijin private blockchain project. Furthermore it is a complete rewrite of the original code.

By the way, NEM has zero lines of code shared with Nxt.

I am feeling very optimistic about this cryptocurrency, but I am not one of those who think that NEM is the real Bitcoin 2.0 crypto.
