haha you spelled it wrong! It's "HOLD" :P
The very first time the term HODL appeared on the Bitcoin talk forum was in 2013 and came from a member named GameKyuubi under the thread “I AM HODLING”. I was a bit confused when I first saw the term and thought that it is a spelling mistake but then I had to google it and found this :)
