Idex Exchange Say Goodbye to New York

The Idex Decentralized Exchange has announced that they will ban all users of the State of New York. Idex is the third largest decentralized cryptocurrency exchange after EtherDelta and ForkDelta with more than 5,000 ETH daily trading volumes.

Idex tweeted today that it will start blocking all users using the New York IP Address from tomorrow, ie October 25 (18:00 UTC Time).

Starting tomorrow October 25, 2018, New York residents and others who tend to use the New York IP Address will not be able to access the exchange and therefore will not be able to trade hundreds of Ethereum-based tokens registered on the platform.

The decision to block traders in the state has begun to dissent through the cryptocurrency community. It is a standard for centralized exchanges to block residents of certain areas, with New York countries most often boycotting based on very expensive cryptocurrency regulations. For decentralized exchanges to give careful consideration to the impulses of New York MPs it is astonishing, though, especially because IDEX does not contain fiat currency pairs, security tokens, or different instruments that may play an important role with regulators.
