In one of the most interesting and hilarious stories of today, it is reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) seized more that $77,000 in cash that was stuffed in two bags at Dallas' Love Field Airport. Though reported today, the incident is said to have happened in January. The FBI alleges that a supervisor with Southwest Airlines got suspicious when she smelled marijuana (dagga) coming from the two bags.

A man and a woman had been arrested in connection with the incident. No criminal charges have been filed against any of the pair at the moment. The man, whose name was on one of the bags, claimed that he was travelling to Burbank, California to buy Bitcoins. He claimed to have earned the money from working in the music industry. The woman, who owned the other bag, likewise said she was travelling to Burbank to also buy Bitcoins. She said her money was earned from her career as a lash extension technician. It was not immediately clear whether the pair were a couple and if they were travelling together.

Now the FBI have confiscated the loot saying it is drug money. The money has been seized under the forfeiture law. This incident has brought to the fore, concerns which are repeatedly raised that cryptocurrencies are used for money laundering and other illicit activities. The debate on the good and the bad of the digital currencies rages on.....
