A few days ago i posted about a scam that was being sent via the Slack app whereby many ico groups were being messaged about a free coin givaway. These messages seemingly appeared to be from the official ICO channels but sadly were not and contained a link to a fake MEW wallet.

Well this morning i received another scam message (the first was in the Sia coin slack channel and have seen a few others since in different channels) The message is as follows -

Due to the increasing number of phishing attacks and holder requests from the ETH network, we decided to implement TWO-Factor Authentication on all ETH wallets.

Please visit Myetherwallet.com to upgrade your wallet to the new security level.

Please be aware that you will not be able to access your funds, tokens and wallet anymore if the new security protocol is no implemented.

We are taking this measure to protect both you and our network from phishing mand malicious attacks.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding

The Ethereum DEV team

The link that it has embedded in the test actually goes to myetherwalliet (notice the misspelling)

If you click on the link and enter your details to access your wallet you will basically be giving the scammers full access to your coins.

To stay safe ALWAYS type the URL to your wallet and never click on any link that pertains to link directly to your wallet, these guys are sneaky and many people will not notice the slight variation on the URLs spelling! Stay safe people!

Please ReSteem this post to raise awareness of this scam!
