Global Synergy In The Works Between Gemini and Huobi Global

Huobi Group CEO Leon Li and COO Robin Zhu met up with Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. The Gemini co-founders had a discussion with the Leon and Robin from Huobi Global on 7th November, 2018, in Beijing where the parties discussed a range of topics and ideas that will enable great collaboration and synergy between East and West.

If you don’t know who Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss are then you’ve been living under a rock. They’ve moved on from Facebook and have grown to become huge figures in the crypto space not just in America but the world as well. Seeing as how they are such giant pillars in the Bitcoin and crypto world, a discussion of this magnitude is surely a sign of serious efforts being put forward to build meaningful connections.

Some of the topics that were discussed were stable coins such as Huobi Global’s HUSD and Gemini’s GUSD - the stability of which impressed Leon and Robin. It is also important to note that Huobi recently listed GUSD, giving millions of traders and investors exposure of the stable coin as well as access to a greater degree of stability.

Another issue discussed included building a flatter global economy together with cryptocurrencies playing a major role in the economy of the future. Cameron and Tyler were also impressed with Huobi Global’s expansion plans across countries and jurisdictions like South Korea, Japan, Canada and Australia.

I personally believe that Huobi has a lot to offer the West in terms of products and services such as Huobi Cloud and Huobi OTC. It is these products and services and superior attention to details and customer service that has propelled Huobi to become one of the top three exchanges by trading volume. It is these same products that will create a better trading environment in the West through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Huobi Cloud

Huobi Cloud is prime example of this. In brief, it’s a service which allows companies to open and operate their own exchanges based on the Huobi model which has already proven to be successful. This will not only enable companies to get a head start using Huobi Cloud but also facilities better trade and enhance security in the space.

What I’m more excited about though is Huobi’s OTC service. Most of you know about the crackdown on exchanges in America with the SEC going after EtherDelta as well as KYC being made mandatory on IDEX. There have also been instance of theft and other shady dealings on OTC platforms like Localbitcoins. Huobi OTC has already strides to be one of the leading OTC players even in countries like India. Their platform is not only smoother and more intuitive but the security it offers is unparalleled in the space. OTC trading that’s legal and safe in the West is one thing I’m really looking forward to and I’m hoping this partnership helps facilitate that.

Stable coins like HUSD

This brings us to stable coins. With the fear and uncertainty surrounding USDT, the recent release of stable coins have been a breath of fresh air in the crypto space and have brought some much-need relief to the markets. Stable coin projects like HUSD by Huobi Global and GUSD by Gemini as well as USDC, TUSD and PAXOS are backed by credible organisations and bring a great degree of stability to markets. Going forward, I believe stable coins will be the building blocks on which liquidity and security of the future is created.

Initiatives and services like Huobi Cloud, Huobi OTC and HUSD are going to play a key role in the future. They’ve already helped establish Huobi Global as a major player in the global crypto space and are soon going to help America reach its full potential, too.

Times are finally looking exciting after a mostly morbid 2018 and I feel 2019 will not only bring with it some massive gains but also big developments and initiatives powered by greater collaboration.
