Pornhub Website Accepts Cryptocurrency as Payment

The pornographic industry is getting more and more involved in crypto activities, adapting to technological changes. The most popular website for adult entertainment is now accepting crypto asset: Verge as a payment method.

The announcement was made yesterday, 17th April 2018, via Pornhub’s website and YouTube, using an informational video about the new opportunities. The token Verge will be considered as a Premium Service, according to Pornhub.

According to the blog post, “Not only is this an exciting announcement for us and the adult entertainment industry, it’s exciting for the crypto space. History has proven that the adult entertainment industry plays a critical role in adoption for innovative technology. We saw that with VHS, Beta Max, credit card payment icons and, most recently, VR goggles. We expect to see widespread adoption of crypto and blockchain in short order.”

The necessary funds were raised in March to make possible a new collaboration, but until yesterday, most of the information was secret.

The Vice President of Operations at Pornhub, Corey Price stated that “We’re extremely excited to offer our fans the ability to use crypto and think Verge, with its focus on anonymity, is the best option – whether for privacy, convenience or both”.

The main benefits of Pornhub’s new project are privacy, security, and practicality, according to the blog post. The company wants to take care of customer preferences and adapt their services to them. The adoption of cryptocurrency will definitely drive the company into the midst of technological development.
