Is steemit mining in my browser in the background?

Hi, steemit team / tech people - I have a quick question...

Since a couple of weeks I read more and more about client-side JS mining in the browser. Is this going on on steemit too? I sometimes am under the impression that the UI of the steemit site is a bit lagging here and there - so it made me wonder. Usually I try to find signs in the element inspector / developer console but I have not yet seen any suspicious thing.

If so, are they using similar technologies like https://bit.ly/coinhive ? Anyone from the development team care to share some insights?
