PrivCy - The Power of an Airdrop

One thing in life is certain- people love free stuff. I mean, it doesn't matter what it is - no matter how small. If it’s free, you can expect people to line up around the block to get their hands on it. Things are even more extreme when said free thing happens to be a cryptocurrency that has the potential to increase significantly in value over time.

Enter the PRiVCY Airdrop.

For another 19 weeks, each Friday PRiVCY will be conducting airdrops of their coins to a growing number of recipients. Simply by following a few simple to follow rules/tasks, you too can participate in these airdrops.

The reason for said AirDrops? Put the coins into as many hands as possible. This is one of the most fair ways to distribute them. Further, it is a much better alternative to launching an ICO. Another benefit to this is because PRiVCY is a staking coin, it immediately adds stability to the network. When done properly, I feel the combined benefits of an AirDrop make it a great choice for new projects, while many will feel the wrath of doubters casting shade due to the necessary pre-mine, I feel this can be overcome with transparency and honesty.

AirDrops aren't entirely new. The most successful AirDrop that I've personally witnessed and participated in was the one done by DeepOnion. It lasted 40 weeks, and seen a number of adjustments, and modifications along its way - 99% of which were implemented to eliminate, or at the very least mitigate scammers, and cheats. While the initial PRiVCY airdrop had very few limits, this week we seen the introduction of a few changes which were enthusiastically embraced - I suspect we'll see more before we reach week 20, which in my opinion is not a bad thing.

I personally like AirDrops, not only due to their effect on my blockfolio, but also for the way they almost instantly create a community. People receiving free coins are going to be sticking around in order to continue receiving free coins. Assuming those running the airdrop capitalize on this community, and manage to nurture it, and keep it intact post-airdrop, then in my opinion, it can be considered a success.

Only time will tell if the PriVCY will deliver solid development to this project, as an AirDrop alone will not make it a success – it needs buyers too.

Currently people are free to sell all their coins week in, and week out. Though, people should be aware that at week 10 the amount people receive will be heavily dictated by the amount people hold. I for one love this game plan – all forced holding does is makes a lot of people who really don’t care about the project wait – then when the limit is removed, a whole whack of people dump. Its best to let them do so slowly over the course of time, and those who wish to hold can do so, and be rewarded for doing so.

PRiVCY has received a bit of slag from those in the DeepOnion community, calling it a copy-paste. The fact is, all projects out there are a copy of another coin. It is after this initial stage that we will truly see what they can do from their own development standpoint. During my numerous chats with a number of the core people, I can honestly say that I am optimistic and like their current direction.

1. Carry the PRiVCY Signature on your bitcointalk account.
2. Show your PRiVCY wallet address on your Bitcointalk profile (BTC address, Location, ETC)
3. Make 5 Quality posts on Bitcointalk each week – Any section is fine, except off-topic.
