In Case You Missed It...

With cryptocurrency popularity steadily increasing, so are the scams, fake information surrounding the industry, and companies having their practices closely scrutinized. So,

In case you missed it...

USI Tech is a Dubai based company that claims to manage an automated trading platform that allows users to 'become involved in the crypto market with no expertise of their own". Their website also focused on their affiliate program which would allow users to earn 'commission' for getting other people to sign up and 'invest' their money.
On December 21st, Texas issued USI Tech with a cease-and-desist order, stating that the company had failed to meet registration standards for the state and also failed to disclose pertinent information about the risks of bitcoin mining.
Fast forward to Jan 5, and users from the U.S. and Canada begin receiving letters informing them that their 'contractual relationship' has been terminated due to illegal advertisement issues.

Users that still want to be involved in the USI Tech program have been encouraged on social media sites to change the location of their IP address in order to accommodate use of the site.

BitConnect, based in England, is another website that allows users a 'simple' way to earn money by 'lending' BCC tokens and earning daily interest using their volatility software. An affiliate program earning commission is also a large portion of what BitConnect is all about. The company also recently announced that they will be holding a 'token sale' beginning this coming week for BitConnectX. Following this announcement, Texas decided to step in and take measures against them also by, once again, issuing a cease-and-desist order. The reason this time? BitConnect 'affiliates' are not registered to sell securities in the state; therefore, they can not advertise Bitconnect to get others to sign up.
