We all know that social media tracking for ICOs is a tedious process. Sometimes we can even forget to do it.

Why social media tracking is an important part when analyzing an ICO?

Well, social media can tell us a lot about the project. First of all, the number of followers the project has can help us determine how capable the ICO is in reaching their soft cap.

Secondly, we can determine if an ICO is taking the easy way by looking at their followers. It really takes a minute or two to decide if the followers are genuine or bought.

Most of the bought followers will have no description, no profile picture, no posts, and followers.

While genuine or 'organic' followers will have a specific description that might include words/tags like cryptocurrency, ico, crypto and etc.

Also, the number of followers, or how the number changes every day can say a lot about the project. For example, on day one a project has 20,000 followers, and on day two the project has 8,000 followers. This means that the project has lost 12,000 followers in just 24 hours. This will strike your curiosity. Why? Something doesn't seem right and you will most likely deem the project as "fishy".
