Starting My EOS Knights Adventure

in #cryptocurrency6 years ago

It's a mostly Idle adventure, but it's still entertaining.

I just started playing EOS Knights the other night, and I found myself leaving it up in the background while I was doing other things. I'd keep coming back to check on it, curious to see what new items I would get, or how many floors my heroes made it to.

You get the choice to purchase 3 heroes, and as you earn materials, you can craft armor, weapons, and accessories for them. You get these materials by doing a rebirth either before or after your heroes die in battle. I'm yet to know if you are penalized at all for letting them die. It doesn't seem like it, and it's not mentioned anywhere.

There are a decent amount of items to craft, and the art looks pretty good. The interface also feels really nice. It's easy to know what you need to craft things, and it's also really simple to put things up for sale.

The game basically auto-plays, and every time you rebirth, your heroes go back to fighting the orcs again. It's a battle to see how many floors you can clear. You will need to level up, and get better gear to make it to higher floors. But, higher floor also means a chance at getting better loot, this is worth crypto! There is a leader-board to see who has cleared the most floors, or who has made the most money selling items.

Oh yeah, there is also a pet gacha! For now pets are simple something you can attach to your heroes to raise stats, like an accessory, but I've heard that you will be able to send them out to get materials or something soon. I don't know the details, but I'll have to look into it.

There is one catch, and the catch is that you will need to have enough EOS banked to stake some into CPU. They recommend 0.3 seconds, but it worked for me with less than that. It depends on how much crafting and other things you will be doing consistently.

You also will need the Scatter extension for Chrome to play the game, which can be slightly confusing to set up, but there are some guides out there. You need to use your "active" private key pair for connecting to the game, not the owner one. It took me a few tries, as I had also just set up my first EOS wallet, but afterwards I've had the game running the entire time my PC is turned on, haha. It's slightly addicting.

So is it like an idle game where you can earn EOS? How much do you have to stake?

I had to stake about $500 USD worth of EOS on CPU. Not sure the exact number to get 0.3 secs worth though.

I will have to check this out
