Better mobile encryption: LibreSignal and Silence.IM Installation Guide

Hello all Jacob Jacob here and just wanted to spread the good news of some better applications for protection on your android:

LibreSignal does not use google permissions or gapps to work, it does take a bit of work to install though(See below)

Silence IM does not use any central servers and uses SMS only to communicate, which from a technical standpoint is more secure then LibreSignal or other app.

Frost for Facebook is a mobile wrapper for android that is more secure then the official facebook apps(does not share location or other information)

TO INSTALL APPS:

You need to download https://f-droid.org/ to install and maintain updates for these apps and more FOSS

allow unknown source's and install F-Droid: https://f-droid.org/FDroid.apk

Now To Install Silence.IM Simply Search for Silence

Same Instructions for Frost for Facebook.

LibreSignal is a bit more difficult so lets get to that now

To Install LibreSignal

1. Launch F-Droid
2. Add the repo https://eutopia.cz/fdroid/repo
   3.Install LibreSignal
   4.Install Oandbackup (You can get it from F-Droid)
   5.Backup LibreSignal with Oandbackup
   6.Uninstall LibreSignal
3. Install Signal from Playstore(I recommend the beta always)
   8.Restore app data with Oandbackup
   Launch Signal and register it. It will say it will create keys but don't worry your keys and sessions won't change. It's actually just registering with GCM because LS didn't register with GCM.

There you have it some good old security!
