Mining Pool is Raising Hash Power to Attack Ethereum Classic

Part of the Ethereum Community has joined in an effort to execute a 51% attack on the Ethereum Classic Blockchain. 51Pool offers lower fees than the majority of pools in order to attract miners and to build up hashpower to mount an assault on ETC. 51Pool currently has 6.86 GH/s, so there's still a long way to go in order to be a threat to the 480.69 GH/s Ethereum Classic Blockchain.

Zcash Launch may be Delayed

The launch of the zero knowledge cryptocurrency known as ZCash may be delayed in order to allow the code to be analysed by multiple third-party auditors. Problems surrounding the DAO attack make security a top priority for any cryptocurrency project. Zooko Wilcox, founder of ZCash stated:

"I feel bad that we didn’t do a better job of making DAO disaster-like problems harder for people to encounter."

BTC-e Calls Out Ethereum Classic as a Scam

BTC-e has officially announced that it will not add Ethereum Classic and it will not credit users with ETC Balance as exchanges like Kraken and Poloniex did. The announcement was made through the BTC-e website:

“BTC-e’s official standpoint on this issue is as follows: Ethereum Classic in the current circumstances is a scam. The >Ethereum community decided to implement the hardfork in order to switch to the new chain. All major pools and >exchanges (including BTC-e) did exactly that. On the second day after the start of ETC trading BTC-e received a >notification from Poloniex, saying that we need to secure the ETCs in our ETH wallet. At the time of notification, >most of these coins have already been sent to Poloniex by our users. So there were almost none of these coins in our wallet.”
