TOP 10 EXTINCT ANIMALS

Bucardo. Extinct in 2000. One of the autochthonous goat classes of Spain disappeared at the end of the last century. Originally from the Pyrenees and extended by Euskadi, Navarra, Huesca, Lleida and Girona, the bucardo was an emblem of the mountain in the north of the Iberian Peninsula.

The hunting is the reason for his disappearance, since his antlers were a very demanded object. In 1900 it had already become extinct in the French Pyrenees, and by then only 50 people were living in the mountains on the Spanish side. The last female died in the year 2000.
