Let's play a game. Two games...

First Game

Picture a desert stretching out as far as your eyes can see. Within this desert is a cube. Describe the cube. What does it look like? How large is the cube? What’s it made of? And where in the desert is the cube. Close your eyes and imagine.

So there you are in the desert with your cube. Along with the cube, you notice a ladder. Now, describe the ladder. How big is it? Where is it in relation to the cube? What is it made out of? Close your eyes and imagine.

Within this desert that contains a ladder and a cube is now a horse. Describe the horse. Where is the horse? What’s it doing? Is it going anywhere or staying put? Close your eyes and imagine.

Now you see flowers. Describe the flowers. How many are there? What do they look like? What colour are they? What shape are they? Where are they in relation to the other objects? Close your eyes and imagine.

There’s a storm. What’s the storm like? Is it near? Far? What kind of storm is it? Does it impact any of the other objects in the desert? Close your eyes and imagine.

Now it's time to consider what you have imagined:

The cube represents you and how you see yourself in the world. It is your ego? If the cube is transparent that means people can see right through you. The material the cube is made of represents feelings, and how tough of a front you put up. The size of the cube compared to the desert represents the size of your ego. If the cube is large in comparison to the desert you think highly of yourself.

The ladder represents your friends. Is it leaning on the cube? Your friends depend on you. Is the latter short or tall? Is it weak or strong? Is it upright or laying down? These will mirror how your friends are to you. The distance between the cube and the ladder shows how close you are to your friends.

The horse is your dream partner and your closest ally. It tells you a lot about what you want. Some see a workhorse, others see a unicorn. Your lover or ideal lover. The distance between the horse and the cube represents the closeness you have with your current lover. If the horse is tied up, then it shows the need to be controlling in a relationship. If the horse has a saddle then you feel safe with them. If the horse is free and not saddled, it means you view your lover as uncontrollable, unpredictable.

The flowers are your children, those that you support. The flower represents your children or desire to have children. The closer the flower is to the cube, the closer you feel to your children or the thought of having children. The more flowers the more children you wish to have.

The storm is a threat. The storm represents some obstacle in your life. If the storm is passing, the issue is current with a resolution in the near future. If the storm is staying put, it has been an ongoing obstacle in your life with no resolution in sight. The size of the storm represents how big of an obstacle this is to you, as does the distance. The further away the storm the less importance you place on it. If the storm is violent it means this obstacle is causing quite some grief.

Meanings of The Colours

You can ask just the basic questions or choose to go into more detail and ask about the colours of the cube, ladder, horse, storm, and flowers. Below is a list of colours and what each means.

Black: Black is the colour of authority, elegance, sophistication, and seduction. Black can also imply submission such as a woman who is wearing black panties implies she wants the man to see her in her underwear.

White: White symbolizes innocence and purity, which is why the wedding dress is white. Doctors wear a white coat to imply sterility and cleanliness.

Red: The colour of dominance, power, and sexual energy, the colour red attracts attention. It is also the colour of love.

Blue: One of the most popular colours, blue represents knowledge, authority, and loyalty. Blue causes the body to produce calming chemicals so it is often used in bedrooms. The colour blue shows loyalty.

Green: Green represents compassion, prosperity, money, and vitality. It is a relaxing colour. Many TV studios have a “green room” for people to sit in to relax before they go on the air.

Yellow: Yellow is another attention getter. While it is considered an optimistic colour, symbolizing enthusiasm and playfulness. The colour yellow is very difficult for the human eye to take in and can be overpowering.

Purple: Purple is the colour of royalty. It represents luxury, wealth, and sophistication. It is also feminine and romantic and rarely found in nature.

Brown: Old reliable brown.Brown shows stability. It is the colour of earth and a favourite of most men.

Now for the Second Game

After pondering what you imagined, now imagine what you want to see for each one of these same elements: cube, ladder, horse, flower, storm. Recreate the image in your mind so that you feel good about each element and the image as a whole.

So.... My desert is rolling gentle hills. Sandy, but pleasant and warm and soft to walk on. It's red sand. Like in Australia. It looks very much like the Australian desert. There are small shrubs and plants and trees scattered around. Some close together. Some stand by themselves. It is easy to meander and walk amongst them.

My cube is large and transparent. It's a house. The edges are not sharp, but round. There is a slight glow to it, like the walls are shimmering. Not like glass. Like some magical material. Light, cool, strong. I am sitting inside lounging spread over a large sofa. A divan. I'm just smiling and looking at the beauty all around me. There is little furniture in the cube but it is warm and tastefully decorated. I can't see a door, but it feels as I can walk through the walls when ever I need. So it feels like a home. There is a Persian carpet on the floor. Several. In bright vibrant colours. Spread in overlapping randomness over the floor. My sofa is white with a red throw over that is lazily spread under me. There are other sofas in the cube. I am sitting in one quarter of the cube as the walls towers above me. Not too high. Supportingly. Like the large lobby of a hotel.

There are two ladders. Yellow wooden ones. They are both leaning on the walls. Not heavily. But in a useful way. One is on the outside. The other is on the inside. The one on the outside is study and robust. It is a bright yellow. With big elliptical side rails that are easy to hold. Each rung is strong and solid. The ladder in the inside is also study and strong, but it is of smaller stature. It is also a pale yellow, almost white wood. It is standing straighter and looks like a ladder that can be easily moved to access high up on the walls. There is nothing for the ladders to reach - the walls have no shelves. But it feels comfortable that they are both there - ready to help when needed.

There is a beautiful white horse. Female. Standing outside the cube. Adjacent. Relaxed. Looking peaceful. She is a beautiful horse that has strength and grace. Not large and not small. Her mane is gracefully combed and flowing over her neck.

And the flowers are everywhere. They are growing in the desert. But they are mainly in two large patches, one on the front of the cube, at the feet of the horse, and the other patch is behind, spreading to cover this area. The flowers cover the ground like a carpet. A complete mat. There are many colours. Red, yellow, white, green, purple. And they have many different sizes, small and tiny, interspersed with occasional large blooms.

The storm is far off in the distance. It is retreating. And like desert storms you can see it entirely, each side, the face moving and the face trailing, as is glides gracefully across the desert along the distant horizon. This storm is a rain storm, bringing water and life to the desert.

My life. Peaceful and strong. Strength. Patience. Grace.
