Intat ranup adalah suatu kegiatan adat yang sangat sering di lakukan oleh masyarakat Aceh dimana sang pria akan melamar si perempuan yang akan menjadi istrinya nanti.
Intat ranup dalam adat masyarakat aceh kebiasaan dipercaya sebagai salah satu media untuk mempererat hubungan di kedua belah pihak, atau sering juga disebut sambutan kemuliaan untuk tamu.

Di acara ini biasanya kedua keluarga bersama perangkat kampung memutuskan jumlah mahar, dan di waktu yang sama juga ditentukan pula tenggat waktu sampai kapan keluarga perempuan bisa menunggu atau ada juga langsung menentukan tanggal untuk melaksanakan resepsi.

Biasanya pada acara intat ranup keluarga laki-laki akan membawa sejumlah kecil mahar dari jumlah keseluruhan yang sudah dikesepakati oleh kedua belah pihak
