Nel @ Shisha
Yesterday my Friends and I where meeting up in my place chilling, relaxing, deciding where to go. There was a proposal to check a new shisha place out, everyone was thrilled and agreed. To date, I was not aware that we were all shisha fans, so that made me ponder, somehow this shisha trend has sneaked up on us and dominates Germanys inner cities.
As great lifestyle accessory, the Oriental water pipe intoxicated recently the night life of Western cities.
"Man is half in his place, lounging in the pillow, can wonderfully relax after a strenuous working day and switch off. After a successful evening, which was like a vacation day in a foreign country, one is totally recovered"
Oriental cafés are trendy - a later success with sweet scents: BlackBerry, Apple honey, melon. The Oriental water pipe could not prevail in contrast to stimulants such as coffee or tea namely long in Europe. Now, at a time when viewing thoroughly in the West has been discredited the Arab Muslim culture, the hookah has become a cultural Ambassador, a Countertrend to the widespread Islamophobia and the commercialized world of shareholder value. The simple message: Doing nothing is the most beautiful with water pipe.
The origin of hookah is suspected in India where the first hookah from a coconut and one in this set of bamboo sticks was built. The present form probably originated in Egypt of the 16th century. A community culture that has until today inventory evolved to the hookah. The hookah in many Arab countries was an integral part of the culture, joint smoking was and is regarded today as a symbol of hospitality. Since the late 20th century, more shisha is smoked than before. It is considered as an alternative to cigarette smoking. In many European cities, there are Cafés and bars where you can order hookahs. In some places, people (especially young) smoke their shisha in public places, such as parks.
Shisha culture in Germany
According to a 2007 appeared Health study, provided by the Heidelberg university, 14 percent of young people in Germany smoked at least once in the month water pipe. In addition, there are now shops, sell the shisha and accessories. The non smoking protection laws touch operation of these bars, however the nontobacco shisha-smoking is not consistently affected.
The cult of the water pipe has evolved - also - first like much else in the Internet. A large community there exchanging tips and tricks, pipe models and new habits. The necessary accessories is advertised with the same. And of course the health aspect.
Finally, it remains a matter of taste, which is also to be enjoyed with caution as well as cigarettes or alcohol.
My friends an I had a blast.
