Travel with John #1 - Prague National Theatre

in #culture8 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemiters,

here's the my first story about travelling. This time I and my friend decided to go to the our National Theatre, which is located at Prague, Czech Republic.

But first, let me introduce to you, the Our theatre. The National Theatre is known as the alma mater of Czech opera, and as the national monument of Czech history and art. The National Theatre belongs to the most important Czech cultural institutions, with a rich artistic tradition, which helped to preserve and develop the most important features of the nation–the Czech language and a sense for a Czech musical and dramatic way of thinking.

In a short, I'm very proud I live in the city, where this building is located, because it's something that I can be proud of, something I can respect.

We have chosen the evening performance "Manon Lescaut". Before we started, we had a look at the building of this beautiful and significant theater. The very nice lady guide welcomed us into the underground of the theater where she showed us the basic stones, models of the original theater and its reconstructed form and introduced us with the history of construction from national collections.

After seeing the models and basic stones , the nice lady took us to a tour of the other stages of the National Theater, eg a private presidential entry. Then we went to the auditorium where we had the opportunity to see and photograph the beautiful interior and the historical theater curtain. Coincidentally, scenes were prepared for "our" evening performances so we had the opportunity to see more than ten technicians in action.

We walked through the corridors with the impressive decoration of prominent artists such as Mikoláš Aleš, František Ženíšek, Václav Hynais, Josef Václav Myslbek, Jan Štursa etc. Our last stop was the terrace with rising triple trips with the goddesses of Victory and a breathtaking view of Prague.

Back in the auditorium we met before the start of the performance at 19:00. The main roles were Pavlína Štorková, Vladimír Polívka and Vladislav Beneš. The performance was presented very modernly and we liked it very much. The curtain goes down, the lights go out ...
