Films to shoot in 2019 (Part 1)
Images property of @fcdvpds
Film photography will never go extinct, first because digital technologies (hardware and software) are still way off the mark in exactly replicating that desirable "film look." And, second because of enthusiastic film Photographers like @fcdvpds — here featured — who are preserving the tradition.
This Hong Kong explorer's blog is testament to this passion, awash with stunning images entirely shot with film. In this post @fcdvpds shares some interesting review-like thoughts on some of his favourite films, from the Kodak Ultramax 400 to the 3200-rated Kodak DELTA, and everything else in between. There are of course scanned photographs shot with each of these, just so you satisfy your film-grain taste buds.
Have fun looking at this one.

The Adventures of Young Captain K - Chapter 12 Okracoke Island - #piratesunday @dixiesilverminer
Image from original post
Continuing "Adventures of Young Captain K" we follow pirate Jack to Okracoke Island, and @handofzara's narrative flare comes to full display, with the excellent characterization and great command of story pacing.
The writing is simply impeccable, making you love every bit of the drama while Jack negotiates for hospitality in this island. I got in touch with @handofzara who lent some thoughts into what inspires:
"I am a bit of a history buff and what I try to do is weave in to a story some real events and how those events might set forth a fictional series of events. In this chapter it was concentrated on the pirate Jack Henry. The event that set Jack on a course of vengeance against Archibald Campbell was the Massacre at Glencoe.
I wrote about this in an earlier chapter and revealed the historical background to this here.
Read the chapter here, and catch up with the previous parts of the series in the provided links.

Inktober 2018 Days 1 to 15 - Halfway Celebration!
Images property of @seanbon
It's been a busy first half of the month for Sean, who has a cool collection of ink to show off. Inktober continues into its second half, and the brilliant artists of steem continue to share their works.
Today's featured artist is Sean and here he shares a bit about himself in his own words:
"I started off as a novice artist in the game industry back in 2006, making games for handhelds and online platforms. I am particularly fond of pixel and concept art, which is what I spend most of my time doing, working as a freelance artist out of Thailand.
Participating in inktober for the first time, I am hoping to refresh my skills and relearn the joy of making mistakes in ink."
I believe that touched on a very important point in undertaking challenges like above. Devoid of the pressure of commercial work, yet still holding enough oomph to keep an artist motivated to create. Sean is a regular on the platform and shares his illustrations on his blog. I invite you to take a look.

🎨 "The Dressmaker" - She paints with fabric!
Images property of @reinhard-schmid
"The Dressmaker" is a commissioned work of Reinhard Schmid, a German painter. Here @reinhard-schmid lets us in with some background information that led to commencement of featured work, and shared his process. His model for the task is a young dressmaker, that lends herself to the conceptualizing of the idea.
"The biggest step in such a commission for me is the idea behind the painting. To make it unusual, eye catching and different, yet aesthetic."
Inspired by his former works, employing elements from classic works, and leveraging a connection with his subject, this is setting up to being maybe a classic on its own. Get a peek of the progress of "The Dressmaker" here, art lovers.

Fall Shoot 2018 Flintlocks in the Mountains
Here I leave you with this post featuring a cool video of some folks firing black powder guns in the mountains, in what seems to be the Annual Fall Interstate Flintlock Team Shoot at Boonesborough.
Denny Ducets describes itself as "A cadre of firearms enthusiasts who bring a range of experience to the employment of firearms and support equipment."

Wonderful job @curie, and I love your featured artist, when I saw their inks this was my favourite! #inktober is turning out to be a great showcase for our wonderful artist community. I'm loving it. We need a November steemit art hashtag to continue the daily inking love :)
