My Dad was looking for something new to watch so I told him to try Rick & Morty

in #dadjokes7 years ago

This was his response he sent me a day later on Facebook:

"I watch some clips on Youtube of Rick and Morty. I know you'll probably hate me for saying this but its a typical safe millenial-type comedy. Very politically correct. Yes alot of swearing and masturbation jokes is very politically correct. It seems the only group being made fun of are crazy old white guys thru the character of Rick. The only group millenial comedy writers target are old white guys (big suprise). The bottom line is it didn't make me laugh. Thanks for the suggestion though."

"The more I think about it, the Rick and Morty show is kind of a rip-off of the movie Back to the Future. Rick is kind of a cruder version of the Doc character and Morty is suppose to be the Marty character. Not too original."

"South Park and Family Guy are so much better its not even funny. I know most Adult Swim shows are kind of overrrated, low-budget. and sucky. They have cult followings though. Remember that awful show where one of the characters was a thing of french fries and the other was a soda. Somehow that got so popular they made it into a movie. In hindsight that Steve Brule clip isn't even that funny. People in the comment section act like its the funniest thing they've ever seen. People overrate everything on the internet. P.S. I have a question. Would a show like Family Guy even be allowed today? That might be too politically incorrect for todays young people (I'm tired of saying millenials). Family Guy use to trash alot of celebrities with their pop culture references. Young people even get sensitive now when their favorite celebrities are bashed. We should all just be nice and never make fun of anybody. How boring. Ok I'm done ranting. It's like you said, none of this bullshit even matters. I'm going to bed now. Bye."
