'Friendly Rainbow Lorikeet,'
I receive daily visitors (of the feathered kind) on my balcony. They brighten up my day in so many ways with their cheerful chatter, their pitch perfect songs of praise to their creator, and their energetic interaction with their mates as they too, join in.
Australia's Rainbow Lorikeets are gregarious and colourful by nature and this one is not shy at all. He allowed me to walk slowly up to him and take his picture.
This is the image I am submitting for the #dailypetphotography contest.
He did not visit on his own. He ( I called him Romeo) and his mate (Juliet) enjoyed the beautiful view from Scarborough, overlooking Moreton Bay in Queensland, Australia.
It had such a profound effect on them that they became enamored of one another and all of a sudden 'Love was in the Air,' and I had the privilege of witnessing their mating ritual take place.
