You must have been in the town; driving and coming across the groups and the howls of teenage boys who adopt smoking as a fashion. Though some of them even don’t know how to hold a cigarette? These innocent jambs soon will adopt it as a habit and tomorrow will appear as a big chain smoker who feels pride in holding cigarette in between the lips and assuming that he must be looking like Charles III. Smoking is the first addiction that may start up to chain of drugs series. Every year in USA millions of people are diagnosed with heart and lung diseases victimizing smokers.

Heart attack and lung associated cancers are the big gifts that your smoking attribute can bring any time late in life to you. The dilemma of our society is that many individuals are unaware and are not educated on the sensitive health issues. But you must know one and a single fact that smoking is really dangerous and it can bring great harms to you even it may be a killer of your life bringing and dragging you near to death with every puff of smoke you take in. if you have read my article on “Heart Attack”, it will be in your knowledge that heart attack occurs more frequently to those who smoke excessively.
If you simply know how cigarettes are manufactured and what are the constituents used in its making, you may throw the cigarette case in your pocket up in the air. Let me tell you a brief comprehensive detail of cigarette manufacture.
Cigarettes are one of the mainly used addicts in the world wide and are manufactured on different scales. Different manufacturing companies manufacture it with different ingredients. In United States five major distributing companies have reported different addict chemicals. The smoke of the cigarettes contains round about 4,000 chemicals, among which 43 are cancer causing. Other 400 are toxins. While reporting these ingredients, these chemicals were not tested by burning because burning changes the properties of the toxins.

Toxins include nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, ammonia, arsenic and DDT. Nicotine is highly addictive. While smoking it, nicotine reaches to your brain within six minutes. Nicotine in small doses acts as a stimulant to the brain. In large doses, it’s a depressant, inhibiting the flow of signals between nerve cells. In even larger doses, it’s a lethal poison, affecting the heart, blood vessels, and hormones. Nicotine in the bloodstream acts to make the smoker feel calm.
As a cigarette is smoked, the tar is inhaled. The tar reaches the lungs with the puff smoked. The last puff contains the double amount of tar than the first puff. The carbon monoxide hardens the red blood cells to distribute the oxygen. The greater is the quantity of tar and nicotine reaching the lungs, the more relaxation you get and your lungs face greater danger.
For the first time, an American tobacco company has begun listing long-secret ingredients contained in its cigarettes directly on the label. Yesterday, Liggett Group Inc. introduced cartons that the company plans to begin using that list the ingredients in its L&M cigarettes, including molasses, phenyl acetic acid and the oil of the East Indian mint called patchouli. The move comes as the state of Massachusetts is trying to compel disclosure of all ingredients by all cigarette makers, an effort that other major tobacco companies are fighting.

Along with blended tobacco and water, the 26-item L&M list includes high fructose corn syrup, sugar, natural and artificial licorice flavor, menthol, artificial milk chocolate and natural chocolate flavor, valerian root extract, molasses and vanilla extracts, and cedar wood oil. Less familiar additives include glycerol, propylene glycol, isovaleric acid, hexanoic acid and 3-methylpentanoic acid.
Ingredients in tobacco products have never been proved harmful — especially when compared with the many toxins found in tobacco smoke itself. But activists have long pushed for disclosure of the ingredients, in part because consumers tend to be more wary of risks imposed upon them by others than of the risks they knowingly choose.
The companies have provided lists of ingredients to the federal Department of Health and Human Services for more than a decade, but government officials are legally not allowed to release the information. The industry also presented a composite list of 599 additives to congressional investigators in 1994, but that was never officially made public.
Cigarette flavors have gone through many changes since cigarettes were first made. Initially, cigarettes were unfiltered, allowing the full “flavor” of the tar to come through. As the public became concerned about the health effects of smoking, filters were added. While this helped alleviate the public’s fears, the result was a cigarette that tasted too bitter.
All the alcoholic compounds used in cigarette making can bring a death alarm to you. If you are a cigarette lover and are unable to leave it as you can’t give up breathing; at least you can do one thing, do not buy cigarettes of unknown brands. Buy those which are associated and are affiliated with the health ministry program and make sure that their manufactured cigarettes go through a pharmaceutical supervision. This may help you in getting the minimum poisonous intake.
Every cardiologist recommends his patients to give up smoking immediately if they are habitual of. They have claimed a tremendous progress in heart patients after they gave up smoking and reduced their cigarettes per day.
This falls in a government’s basic responsibilities to make sure that cigarettes are not sold to immature and college boys. Though it seems hard to supervise cigarette selling yet it can be controlled by taking effective steps at the federal and the provincial levels,
