In agony I ponder,
Darkness, why take my joy?
Where is the light when
darkness surrounds me?

Can the darkness overpower the light?
Why is it now evident?
No, this darkness has done more
Than enough already.

I wipe my tears
As I stand upright
To face my fears
The light has shone on me now.
