Understand your Audiences and Build your Audiences and Create more comments

in #ddaily6 years ago (edited)

Please apologise for a long video and I do understand time is so important to everyone.

I try my best to write everything I talked about in the video here so you probably no need to waste your valuable time.

Also please note this is just my opinion and my opinions can be wrong and can be 100% wrong. I want to continue to learn and improve myself and my own life. Also Dtube. And I hope you learn something and let’s continue to learn and move forward together

  1. You can’t play Football in a cricket Stadium because the audiences came to watch Cricket. It doesn’t matter if you’re king of Football and you just need to understand the audience!

  2. If you still want to play football in the cricket stadium then you need to talk to the audience and build relationship and show them Football is more interesting and how amazing you’re then you can still play Football in the cricket stadium

  3. And don’t play cricket just because of money and may be you’ll make some money in the short term but definitely not in the long term because remember Football is the game you love playing and it’s good to play the you love for free for short term and make fortune in the medium and long term.

Also I talked about understanding the platform that you’re using and try to adapt and changing your style of play

Also I do not want to make Dtube to be just a clone of YouTube

I’ve big plans for Dtube and join the Dtube revolution

Have a wonderful day:)

Sorry @nathanmars I have to disagree on this one. I have been a content creator and a DJ for more or less 20 years (music mostly, although I admit I am new to video). And what have I learnt so far?

- With no content, there's no engagement

- When there's content and there's no engagement, the content is either not good or not appealing to the audience where the content is distributed to.

- One can.take two roads: create content for the audience (give them what they want), or create content that you love for the love of creating, and build an audience based on that (people who resonate with it will gravitate towards it).

For the first kind of content creators the quality doesn't need to be as high as the quality for the second kind of content.

When people came to my DJ performances I was known for a certain type of sound, but I would always study the musical background of the city the performance took place, in order to understand who was I playing to, and how to ultimately please them without prostituting my sound. (Adjusting my content in slight ways that would ensure maximum engagement). However if I showed up there and didn't play any music, people would leave, and the promoter would certainly have someone beat the crap out of me, and make sure I would never set foot on that city again.

So there's that, my two cents. I disagree.

No content, no engagement.

Crap content, no engagement.

Good targeted content (prostituting your content) high engagement, easier to build than the next kind of content which is

Great content from the heart, yields highest engagement and close knitted community around said content, although way difficult to build.

Cheers and see you next week.

Yes/Agree however when someone is investing 5-6 hours a day for 7 months from their heart. And then in the end no matter how much they give it all gets a slap in the face. You get told your crap, your nothing, your worthless.. your boring.. how much more can the person give with out feeling shit on. I am going to be honest with you. I am really not happy right now with how some of these creators are on a high horse and have their nose snubbed down on everyone else. I have never judged or attacked anyone. Even if they did have a boring video. I also know how to say my opinion with out being rude and insulting to people. I have given so much and have been treated like shit in return. Honestly Nathan I really appreciate your delegation. You said you would not judge. Well i am going to tell you, I do feel judged. In fact I feel like the people shitting on me and on the platform (saying its crap and no one is here watching) are treated nicer and with more respect, and have been rewarded for their abusive behavior. So please go ahead and remove all of the delegation. I will just make my "boring" "useless" videos with my little kid and grandma. And if people feel guilty and have a conscience it is not because "I" have made them feel that way. It is their gut reaction because they know what they did was not right.. and they are guilty of their own accord. So you can all just ignore me since I am so horrible. And I will spend those 7 hours a day with my family who loves and cares about me. Instead of trying to help people who shit all over me.

Take care Nathan.
I wish you all the best.

Sighs... What is this all about? I hope not about the DTube troll from last week. I thought we got past it? You did a very mature response to it and I thought you moved past it. I must be missing sth, other than that, I am always a text/call away if you need an ear. I don't think you're boring or find your videos useless, and I hope I never did make you feel so. Warm Hugs

Fuck that kind of people @kawaiicrush. The more attention you give, the more they will rejoice. You are not responsible for what the people think or say about you.

Any kind of success brings hating at some point. It only means you are doing it right.

It takes two for tango.

Take care honey

Turning criticism into a personal attack is entirely unacceptable. If he didn't like your video he had complete freedom to watch some other video. Ignore him. He made some valid points, but he could have done so without going after specific DTubers and still made his point. Look forward to seeing your next video, take care and remember to have fun.

Engagement is king! 💪🏼🙌🏼💯

I'm still waiting on my drink 🧡 Happy Halloween lololol

No I said I’m the King. lol

Engagement will allow us to build real human relationships and earn trust and reputation.

Earning Trust and reputation among the communities is the way anyone to become the King in Dtube.

Btw..
It would be nice to see your Dtube Vlogs or Snaps and let me know if I can help you with anything!

Have a wonderful day:)

Engagement is King (Not Content)

What came first, the Egg or the Chicken?

For me I think content comes first. Creating Good Content provokes/leads to engagement.Look at the viral vlog that happened last week, it sparked a lot of conversation and reactions. I'm not saying it was great, but it was content.

Great Content makes people more interested to know more about you and keeps them eager for the next. I have creators who I am always looking forward to their next release, because of what they provide, in terms of quality and creativity.

Other than that, I agree 100% with everything else you said on this vlog. Understanding the Audience is really important as far as being on this platform is concerned- A Content Creation Platform ;)

Thanks for disagreeing with me and I must learn to disagree.lol

Yes 100% contents is comes first but Engagement is more valuable and building relationships are more valuable. With Dtube at the moment our older contents can’t create any value because audiences can’t view it after 30 days unless we hosted on our own IPFS. ( as far as I know)

But as a True content creator, we must be looking to build audiences for longer period of time because they’re the one who is gonna consume our contents.

Also we must understand that it’s 2018 that everyone wants to create and share something. So we must engage with others not just own own content.

We’re moving into new chapter with Dtube and we must respect the platform that we use and contribute to Dtube move forward and engagement is key. And people are just commenting only on their friends contents only.

Very recently I met my friend here in Japan who I told about Dtube 5 months ago and he is a professional videographer and posted 4 videos and no engagement and no upvotes. And stopped posting.

Simply we engagement is part of the content creators process. Early days of content creating one must focus on Engagement more than creating content.

I agree that for many, engagement first, seems to work. I disagree because I feel content should be first. It is what it is. Thanks for delving into this subject matter and your support.

I agree with you that engagement at this point of time is key, but however, we need to have a good content so that our followers will continue to follow us. I may be wrong. Coz I only post once on dtube, maybe 2 twice. The first was just a try out. However, I think to understand the platform in steemit is entirely different from youtube.

What your doing here on dtube is amazing, trying to get as many people into dtube but also be an original person in front of the camera is not easy task to find. I think to be on dtube, firstly they need to love the product. Without love, there is no continuation. That's my 2 cents.

Loving your 2 cents!

I watched your introduction vlog and the snap vlog and I feel you’re going a enjoy your journey here on Dtube.

Thanks for being part of Dtube Revolution!!

Have a wonderful day:)

I agree with you. Engagement dictates quality. If you are getting no response at all, what is the point? Here we are mostly creators. I like where @tanbay is going with it by looking at videos as a consumer. I like that idea, at the same time our current market is creators.

You can't play football in a cricket stadium

This got me. I mean you have to first know your audience.. Get acquainted with your audience and then believe the system.. It might not get you bucks right now but in the long term, you will see result.. Nice write up @nathanmars. I love your way of life.

This is not a long video at all. Long video to me is 20 minutes to 30 minutes. Dtube is very different from YouTube. Because I don't engage in YouTube. I only consume the content. Muahaha. Sorry that say that. And I can't make any friends there either. Little engagement. I have been using YouTube ever since it started.

I have been on Dtube one month plus and I have gained friendship all across the globe. And we actually engage. Whether our video is pro or not, we watch because we want to support.

Well this is also just my personal opinion.

And hey was it the same park you walked like that day? With water and nature behind. And do you speak Japanese language?

I know you like the number 7.

See you another time Sir.

Many users here are having fun doing DtubeSnap. And I am amazed how much we can speak in 1 minute.

So let us keep learning and improving.

@nathanmars, nice DTube video. In my view, it is hard to say what is most important - content, or engagement, or quality of the video, etc. Yes, we are all people, but to some extent we are all different - everybody has different preferences, taste, and may like different things. So, for someone content is the most important thing, for someone quality of the video, for someone comments, etc.
I think the most important thing is that everybody is free to chose what he/she likes, and what to do. Freedom is the most important thing! If someone likes something let him do it.

Happy Dtubing!
