A new way to save money on Amazon (and other websites)

in #deals8 years ago

Ever purchase something on Amazon.com and assume it's the best price? Or later figure out there was a coupon code you didn't know about? Well I just installed the new Honey extension for Google Chrome. Honey will automatically search for coupon codes and sales, as well as give you a resent price history of the items you have in your shopping cart. See my sample cart:

The new Honey tags appear below your price in the shopping cart. Notice the bat sleeve found a price on amazon less than the one in my cart. I clicked the button and it gave me the option to swap items for the less expensive one. (It did not work exactly as planned. It actually added the other item to my cart and I removed the more expensive item myself. I think that was a glitch.)
The tag under the Powerbeats3 states "Best Deal", so Honey found no better price or coupon for that exact item.
The Honey tag for the Nintendo Switch carrying case says "1 price change". Click on that button and you will see the following price history chart in a new window on the Honey website:

So we see the price has dropped from $14 to a current price of $10.99 over the last 30 days. With Amazon's price of $10.30, that's the best deal.

Honey has additional features like the button "add to drop list" which is like a wish list that will notify you if there are price changes of the items you save to your drop list. Also the HoneyGold program is there referral program where you can invite a friend and earn $5 for each referral (with their first qualifying purchase).

I purchase a lot from Amazon and I think this will be a useful tool to determine if I'm getting the best deal. I hope this helps everyone save some cash to power up their STEEM!
