RE: Architects for Virtual Reality (Decentraland)
The #archisteem project looks great, I'll definitely be following! I'm not sure if you've heard anything about Decentraland, but it will be a blockchain-based world of Virtual Reality... think Second Life, but without a centralized company in control, and all the virtual "real estate" is owned via smart contracts on the blockchain. There are possibilities that companies will develop storefronts, artists will build galleries, alongside virtual residences, casinos, amusement parks, etc. Definitely look into it!
But anyways, I don't have the architecture background or the VR skills to really develop the parcels that I bought in Decentraland. I'm hoping to find an architect and VR developer who can build something for free- but I'm hoping that there's a real benefit to the architect/developer, as well. Basically, I'm hoping that someone can achieve their architectural vision in Virtual Reality... then use their creation in VR as a springboard for future (paid!) endeavors.
The one thing I'm not sure about is how to set up a "contract" so that the architect/developer and myself are protected and ensure the details of the arrangement are clear. I'm just looking for a win-win situation that's fair for everyone involved. I'd love to have a smart contract set up on the blockchain, but I'm not sure how to do that.
For developing in Decentraland, the project will be based upon a web-based VR editor called A-Frame... there's more info on the Decentraland website and official blog. Hopefully that is a bit of help, but if you have any questions just let me know. And I'll definitely be interested in the #archisteem project!
From how you described, what I can imagine is like an open source sim city but to function like a real world with limited land supply but limitless materials? Haha it’s kinda interrsting. I will have a look on that :) cheer. I look forward to see more sharing of yours about this.
