"What Does Decentralization Mean To Me"

I am not a technical person nor do I understand how technically Blockchain functions.
So if I have to express in my simple words what Decentralization means to me, then it is for me;
Freedom of Speech, Freedom of expression, no fear of censorship. In short Decentralization for me is Empowerment and when you are Empowered you experience Freedom

When people with common interest are coming together to work towards a common goal in the best interest of them and everyone, that is where we experience progress in it's true nature and just not the traditional hierarchy systems where there's a pyramid structure and the top to bottom trickle down approach.

I do believe that a decentralized enviornment is a healthy one if practiced in it's true sense because then the power is not vested with a few who would be taking decisions that may be of their best interest but not in the best interest of all.

Steemit blockchain is one perfect example.
Lately we did see the witness vote chaos but then the community coming together and working together with a common goal could easily tackle it. That is the power we see in decentralization.

It's been 2.5 years for me on Steemit and I have seen it evolving. I will not say that all the decisions made have been very favourable for the platform but then there have been many good evolvements also.
The Communities are one of the most beautiful thing that has happened and we saw the power of the community in the witness vote drama.
It is like boss we are not going to take any crap. And this is just not about Justin or any person in particular, it is about the model of decentralization set up where it will not allow a single power to take control.

But then again here when people start acting selfishly like Ned who sold away his stake without any consensus with the Steemians which resulted into losing out some valuable key members of the community from their positions, which is not good for the growth of any community.

All said and done Decentralization is the future, world is shrinking and people are waking up to freedom. We are no more puppets who just wants to follow, but we want to be aware of what's happening with our rights. We want to be involved and not controlled.
Again Decentralization comes with a lot of responsibility, it's not that everyone can start taking their independent decisions based on their convenience. There is surely going to be a governing body in this model also, else it would be chaotic, but the difference is, this authority is working in consensus of the majority keeping in mind the best interest of everyone involved.

Decentralization gives almost a 360 degree view and eliminating bureaucracy to a great extent, if enforced in it's right spirit.

Very well said and my feelings exactly!
I'm all for decentralization and the freedom it brings!

True @porters, we are awakening to our true nature and we know how important our freedom means to us :-)
