Intuition and decision making

in #decision-making5 years ago

Intuition- what our brain thinks subconsciously and what signal it wants to give us. There are many more definitions of Intuition and how it works. But all of the above, we have to accept that it has a huge impact on our decision-making process. How? Because our Intuition register different information and format it differently without our active awareness, so there's always a chance that it shapes our decision-making process.

But the question is, should we go with our intuition or gut feeling or we should be very objective about the decision-making process?

*For me, I set a barrier, like where to be objective and where to listen to my guts. It's not like that I can do that 100% but at least I try to follow this. And it helps. Before applying logic to anything, we need to ask our guts whether it's okay or not. I know it may sound wired but the balance between the two can shift our decision-making process.

But as I have said earlier, it depends on the decision itself. For any relationship issues or family matter, I always listen to my gut feelings. And for any professional decision making, I try to see things objectively. I can say, it helps.*

But, yeah; everyone's decision-making process is different. And how strong your intuition depends on your personality. And if we get the good result once by listening to our guts, doesn't mean it will work same always.

So, I think if we can balance between the two we can expect a better result. I have seen people took a decision just by listening to their guts and then regret it or vice versa. That's why I'm talking about the balance in between.

I hope it helps a little bit!
