Intention without action makes a zero. Intention with action makes a hero. Pastor W.F. Kumuyi

In Part 1, I talked about developing an intense desire to discover what skill set you possess and what capabilities are on your inside.

Today, we moving a step higher in this quest for Knowing one’s Onions and I will be discussing on DECISION.

A decision is a strong resolve to achieve a cherished desire, goal or ambition. At the Desire stage, you have the ‘I can” mentality but at this stage, you need to develop the “I will” attitude. There was a story of a young man who engaged in wasteful spending and riotous living. He had spent all he got from his father and had become so poor that he even had to beg to eat. He fed from the husks of swine at some point. All of a sudden, he remembered the riches of his father and he said to himself “I will arise and go to my father”. Many of us need this strong resolve at some points in our lives.

There are decisions we alone can take for ourselves. Decision brings about realization and actualization through the input of actions. No man achieves anything of value by wishful thinking.

There are quite a few things taking the right decisions can do.

  1. Decisions set one in motion and keeps one in the right direction.
  2. Decisions silences oppositions. You may have to contend with those who do not believe in you. You already got a made up mind.
  3. Decisions dispels distractions. There may be side attractions that may want to get your attention and try to stop your intention but you have already made a decision.
  4. Decision deepens conviction! This is when you have inner peace. You are sure of what you are about to do and where you are going.
  5. Decision showcases Passion. With one’s decision, others can recognize passion.
  6. Decision clarifies Purpose. Intentions are made known through decisions.
  7. Decision to a large extent determines Destiny.

Take a decision in the right direction! Know Your Onions.
