"Hi, I'm Camilla and I'll be your student nurse today".
I didn't grow up wanting to be a nurse. I had already received a Bachelor's degree by the time I decided to pursue this field but it was kind of like nursing discovered me before I discovered it.
💉❤️
In four months I will be a registered nurse. So here's my thoughts and experience as a student.
I'd be lying if I said this stuff gets easier.. It dosen't, you just get stronger 🔥
The residency grind is tough, feel like you're at the bottom of the barrel once again is no fun, but the daily advances made are amazing and I can't wait to see what I'm molded into.
Every single day I'm improving and making adjustments, and that's what life is all about no matter what profession you're in.
There will be days you feel you have everything under control and there will be days you feel like you know nothing. We all experience that. No one has it all figured out so don't let anyone make you feel like you should. Be patient with yourself and forgive yourself often but most importantly learn and grow from every situations.
Just keep going. Keep growing. You are someone's motivation 🙏
For those with a special interest in nursing history. In the picture there's a lot of it. You can see a part of an old uniform. The transition from dresses to scrubs, wasn't until the 90s that the nurses replaced the uniform with the one we know today, pants and a loose top. This led to gender and professional neutral outfits being introduced 🤓
