Depression

Depression feels like
having your experiences
broken down
de stilled

stirring up broken old memories
having the sharp pieces cut you up inside
while the soft ones numb you from the pain
having all that happen
and when having shared that experience
because apparently thats what you're supposed to do
its just not quite right

Depression feels like
its just not quite right.

Depression feels like a story where the page
is fleeting and the title was never written
yet you fall into a the cycle of reading the first line
going through the stanzas
only to reach the last line
having forgotten what the volta was
in a sonnet that had long lost its meter
in a continually stressed step
and nothing fucking rhymes

Depression feels like
watching poets perform thier pieces
but just like a kiddy pool
you wade as much as you can
but it just feels shallow
yet we suffocate
how does that even work?

Depression feels like

the conflict chose to dance with the climax in a
10 hour looped back track with an uninspiring hook
you can just about anticipate
yet never really get out of your head

and it'll feels like forever

but its just in your head

it feels painful

but its just in your head

but just like this metaphor
it lives in your head

larger than the sum of the words chosen to get across to you the meaning behind
what I say
what I mean
what I say

I mean come on
Its just in your head.
