The Desert
A space of silence, where the echo of animals a mile away reaches and leaves. The stars shine in a sea of glitter when the clouds open their way, in real, I feel like every space has its history for hundreds of years.
This place considered Magic Town has now became more touristic but 50 years ago this place still felt like the ghost town it was for a long time. In 1639, we began to record the history of the place by the arrival of the Spaniards, where they settled and began mining projects approx. in 1772. The years passed, there were changes and a lot of exploitation until the silver was devalued in 1900, that's when people left the place and it became a ghost town.
Decades later, people arrived in an introspective search in the desert beside the fire and with grandfather hikuri, better known as peyote. Thus it began to be repopulated by people who valued the spirit of the desert. I met some friends of the life, they are Monica and Felipe two warriors of light who share their experiences in the desert living already more than 25 years there, Monica makes music with his guitar and his voice while Felipe maintains the good humor and talks about incredible stories of his life. The two take care of their goats that I believe that they are more than 50 and each one has his name. They taught us Chris and my very basic things about life like going for wood, lighting a fire and heating delicious potatoes on the embers. They are masters and also if you are looking for a place to do a ceremony with peyote you can ask them with a lot of respect, they will guide you on your journey of introspection.
