But hey let's get into this shall we, so I'm enterin this contest hosted by m'dude @w0olf about reimagining a character which I'm not good at because I'm only good at making original ones more haha.

I never actually read the manga or anything, all I see was just a ninja that is immortal I think, so I had an idea, what if it's a ninja that is immortal.. Because he's a part robot! "Wow me I'm such a genius and totally not having a hard time coming up with ideas, hebat." as I said to myself.

So here's my ninja vigilante who protects the poor cybernetic, city using his samurai sword with the power of blue!

Here is the process of me kinda failing and how I try to not (kind off) fail.

First off, I wasn't too confident but at the same time I wanna try it out. So of course.

I sketch it out, wow what a surprise. I don't really know how ninjas look like, all I see is anime like it and I wasn't too interested in it as a kid. So I just find sketches and refference in google on how they do, so be sure to get reffs if you don't know what you're doing :0

SHSHSHHHH I'll explain. Basically I put in the background color, it was all dark blue if you can see, and I added my main light which is the bright orange, and the second one with the tubes. Basically this is what I want the final image to look like but more.. HD.

Bleeeeeendddding, my favourite part, where you have to figure out. But this part, could also be my enemy, because I just can't feel the MMPH in my imagination, I saw my anatomy is kinda weird and everything I can point out right now etc. but it's only just the beginning for me

So I kinda gave up with that streak on the cheek you see? And just put like those circles. Trying new ideas because I FAILED on that, because something wasn't right and I have to know WHY.

You wanna know why? Because it was waaay too distracting. It's like those big fuck ups you have and you gotta take action to improve yourself y'know what I'm sayin?

Surely it didn't fix the entire picture for me, but it was more than enough. I have to try to be more flexible in these situations, and now the thing that is bothering me the most is the handle of the samurai and the hand. It's kinda a nightmare but keep calm ya know, it's only just one art and you gotta do it all over again and again (Plus there is actually a deadline because it's a contest so double oof)

Ahh the piece is coming together like a puzzle I have created in my mind. Now it's just the details I have to worry about, righto?

More detailing and I added some overlay layers (because it's every artist' saviour.

I actually thought this was my final product, but something was off, I don't know why but I just don't like what I'm seeing, then my friend actually gave me criticism on the eyes and etc. (Thankyou), so another point is criticism! Which is very important to all artist. Constructive or destructive, I think all of it is valid. It kinda sucks to get some destructive ones, but we just kinda suck it up ya know? Sometimes you can ignore it if you disagree with it. But criticism helps to know what is wrong with your art.
