RE: Why I emigrated (I) / Warum ich ausgewandert bin (I)

Yes, so true! It is really a shame because the country has so much potential. We can be in the top tourist attractions in Europe, we can be a top farming producer if we want to or more precisely if we are let to be.
Also, we are the last country in EU to have immigrants. Why is that? A part of the answer can be found in your post.
Good for you for wanting a better life for yourself. It takes a lot of courage to start over, in my opinion.

The country has a lot of potential. The infrastructure needs to be build up, without roads nobody is going to come. Services need to be improved. I've seen some cool bars and restaurants for the youngsters with very good service but the old ones for the masses are crap. And as regards of farming, it is again a menthality change needed. Money is needed and there is money available, but nobody has a strategy to take it.
The life is better for sure. The basic needs as safety and health facilities are covered. I don't have to bribe anybody in hospital :))
3 years ago I had a car crash, nothing serious but the police insisted that I go to have check. I arrived and was waiting. Another patien was coming in with a broken leg and in pain. The nurse asked me if it is ok to take him before me. Maybe it was an exception but I felt good.

Well, everything needs improvement in this country, unfortunately. As you said, young people have a fresh vision, a new mentality on doing things.
As for your experience in the hospital, that should be normal everywhere.
Good luck wherever you will go next!
