About human dignity!
Beyond appearances, we are what we think and not what we say, we are what we do and not what we dream, we are what we leave behind, not what we wanted to be.
Every aspect of life in concentration camps was yet another step down the slope of humiliation and deprivation of dignity. "
*What is human dignity?
#A dictionary defines dignity as "the quality or the state of being worthy, respected, or esteemed.
" So human dignity means both the way we look at us and the way others treat us. Although there are various factors that can influence our feelings about ourselves, the way others look at or treats has an important role in the sense of our own value.
In every country there are poor, defenseless or vulnerable people. However, someone in such a situation should not feel less worthy. In fact, it is the attitude or reaction of others that could make someone lose their sense of value.
The sad reality is that often the right to dignity of people in unfortunate situations is disregarded or ignored. How often do we hear depreciative words such as "bosorog", "unskilled", "handicapped" to elderly, poor, mentally ill or infirm!
Why humble others? Will the fundamental right to dignity of all people ever be respected?
Some people will, some people won't. If we can't change life, we can only find means to strengthen ourselves for the future. Well, that's just my opinion, it was a nice point that you've brought ~
