RE: STEAM Camp - March 2020

in #diy4 years ago

This does look very interesting - not come across Open Source Ecology before.

It would be great if these Steam Camps were livestreamed. Maybe @3Speak would be interested now they have just starting livestreaming...

Sort:

I believe they have done some livestreaming for the previous STEAM Camp. I'll look into that and post what I find.

I didn't know @3Speak had livestreaming. That is awesome. I need to look into that too.

Thanks @Pennsif!

@threespeak started the streaming a couple of weeks ago I think. @starkerz or @theycallmedan would be the people to talk to about this.

How can we help gents?

Thanks for picking this up Matt. It looks like an interesting project.

@starkerz Can you point me to info on how to accomplish streaming on your platform?

Thanks! I'll forward this and look into it myself. I would like to find out what equipment is needed.

Let me know how it goes. I think it was @detlev who did a live stream of his meetup a couple of weeks back. Might be worth making contact with him.

Live-streaming itself is easy. You mainly need to send Audio and Video to a platform.

We use an open source software OBS to connect our cams and microphones locally and be able to switch between cams.

To have the right light and the perfect sound, you need to test all this a lot.

As well a good cam with an optical zoom, is something we prefer to use.

Overall, a lot to learn but mainly simple things.

Thanks for this @detlev.

Hope this is helpful @diggndeeper.com
