Let's milk some Almonds!!! :)
Why do vegans wake up so early in the morning? Right!! -to milk some Almoooonds :)
But before we talk about, how you can make your own almond milk at home, here are five benefits of drinking this white gold :)
Number One:
The containing Vitamin D helps to prevent the Demineralisation of the bones, reducing your risk for osteoporosis. Furthermore, it reduce the risk for arthritis and improve your immune function.
Number Two:
It will keep you skin gloooowing and your body cells young and healthy. Vitamin E is a natural Antioxidant which protect your cells against different kinds of damage (Protection against Lipid peroxidation of the Lipids of the Cell membrane).
Number Three:
It can help you with weight management . With only 15- 50kcal (depends on the brand) it's really low in Kilocalories. SO it's an easy way to save some Energy without cutting out something :)
Number Four:
It doesn't contain lactose. :) Since "Milk" was originally only designed for Babys, our body looses its capability to digest Milk properly when you're no longer a baby anymore. This Phänomen is known as Lactoseintoleranz. And against the common thinking, this is no disease. It's just a part of growing up ;)
Number Five:
It is fully packed with Nutrients like Vitamin E (as mentioned above), Folic acid, Calcium, Iron and Magnesium. Furthermore, it contains Rutin. This is a secondary plant compound (Family: Flavonoids) which has a vascular strengthening effect. It also has antibaceterial-, antiviral- and antitumoral Properties.
In traditional Chinese Medicine Almond milk is indicated by:
cough, dryness of the lungs, asthma, weakness, obstipation, depression, osteoporosis, arteriosclerosis and increased cholesterone.
Ok, let's start! :)
We start with soaking the almond over night (or at least 5h) in water. The Almonds should be covered completely with water.
Then just blend the soaked almonds, together with some dates (for sweetness) and cinnamon and/or vanilla.
When everything is nicely blend together, pour the "Almond smoothie" in a Clotting towel and separate the "Milk" from the Almond mouse.
Et voilà! :) You're readyyy and the Almond Milk is ready to enjoy <3
Store the milk in the Refrigerator and consume it within 3-4 days :) Don't forget to stir it well, bevor drinking :)
