Tim Paine has captained very well and the players - not all of them - have performed. The Australian openers have been a big concern, who don't have anything to show for. The middle order has looked week too, with only Smith and Labuschange playing well.

While for England nothing but they are to be blamed. They have not been at the top of their game. They cannot win the ashes now but they still can draw the series. Winning it is another year's goal now.
