Dutch Radio Goes Live with dLive

Hilversum, The Netherlands (March 27, 2017)—Dutch radio station NPO 3FM has purchased Allen & Heath’s dLive S Class and ME digital mixing systems to manage its On Stage live radio show.

The new radio show includes performances from live bands and incorporates visual clips. A&H’s dLive manages the live radio, floor sound and several feeds for live internet streaming.

Comprising a S5000 and DM64 with DX32 expander rack, the system is fitted with MADI and Waves network cards, with an IP8 remote controller. An ME personal monitoring system, including six ME-1 mini mixers, is available for monitoring the bands. The dLive is configured to provide three different mixes going to the DJ desk, and communicates with the DHD radio mixer via Dante.

The learning curve was only about one hour,” says Elwin Dorlas, who manages the On Stage radio show. “As I need to do a lot of mixing in a short period of time, dLive’s low latency and intuitive layout are key. I love the new FX, compressors and pre-amp modelling, and the I/O patching is spot on. The integration of the ME monitor system completes it for me, and the musicians love the level of control it offers them.”
