He is fairly condescending i.e. “Yes, you have, my pardon, and I give it you.” “Hush, don’t interrupt.”, etc. He tells Bilbo he is sending him on the journey and that it will be amusing for him (Gandalf) to watch. He lectures the dwarves, the hobbit, and even the elves. He is pretty full of himself.
