Quick Shape Rendering Tutorial.
One of the coolest techniques for sketching anything with a bit more realism is the one two three shading technique, it doesn't matter if you are sketching a product or something else, this short tutorial will help get the basics...
The first thing you need to do is lay down some rough pencils, the goal here is to be fast rather than precise, a basic 3/4 perspective will do for this tutorial.
Now you need to go over your pencil roughs with your final ink lines, note that in the final sketch they were toned down slightly.
We now need to roughly calculate where a shadow will land on the floor with some rough lines.
And fill it in with black.
The final step is to apply tones to the different faces of the shape, since the light is coming from above and to the left, the top is the lightest and the right face is the darkest, this usually gives a good read.
These are just some technical steps or tricks, the more of them you know and practice, the easier it is to focus on the creative side, which is where the fun is.
Now is your turn !
