My Childhood Passion: Drawing

in #drawing ā€¢ 7 years ago (edited)

Hello everyone !!! šŸ™‚

20180119_195316.jpg

I am back! Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve posted my blog, so here I am again. How are you guys doing? I sure do hope youā€™re all doing great.šŸ™‚

I just would like to share a little glimpse of my story. I could say this is still a part or a continuation of my introduction.

When I was just a little girl, I used to roam around my room or any place at our house with my pencil or crayons and I used to draw certain things or characters on the wall like flowers or cartoon characters or even things that basically pops out of my mind. Thatā€™s when I realize that I have a little passion for drawing. It kind a help me release my stress when Iā€™m usually out from school.

Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve drawn but I just would want to try and draw again, and am a bit shaky. So I do hope you guys would bare with me.

Being born on October, my zodiac sign is Libra(September 23-October 22). As a tribute I would like to draw an animated image of a Libra.

Libra(September 23 - October 22 )

The seventh astrological sign in the Zodiac. The symbol of the scales is based on the Scales of Justice held by Themis, the Greek personification of divine law and custom. She became the inspiration for the modern depictions of Lady Justice. The ruling planet of Libra is Venus. Libra is the only zodiac constellation in the sky represented by inanimate object. The other eleven signs are represented either as an animal or a mythological characters.

Characteristics of a Libra:

Kind, gentle and lovers of beauty, harmony and peace. However in their effort to keep everyone happy, they find it difficult to say no to anyone and as a result they end up getting stressed. They have a lot of positive traits but some negatives ones too.

"It kind a describes me in some ways".

This are the materials that I will be using for this drawing:

  • coupon bond
  • pencil
  • ballpen/sign pen
  • eraser
  • colored pencil
  • compass
  • ruler
  • pencil sharpener
  • a bowl šŸ™‚

Ok so letā€™s get started. I am a bit excited and at the same time nervous on how this drawingsā€™ gonna look... So here it goes.

ā€¢ At first I draw a circle on the coupon using the bowl...Taking into consideration the edges of the side of the paper making sure that the spaces are equal..

20180119_183751.jpg

ā€¢Next step: I draw a smaller circle inside the circle that Iā€™ve drawn using the bowl...That will be the head, cause I usually start with the head. Beforehand I do imagine or picture the image in my mind on where to exactly put that particular part, as in the case for the head as it is one of the complicated or hardest part for me to draw because a simple line or a curve on the mouth or the eyes may change the expression of your image.

20180114_225617.jpg

ā€¢next step: I draw a rectangle just below the big circle.
20180114_225742.jpg

ā€¢then I picture where will I put the scales..hmmmmm...

20180114_225924.jpg

ā€¢As for the body I have drawn an oblong just below the small circle.

20180114_230143.jpg

ā€¢The eyes ...

20180114_230749.jpg

ā€¢Then the eyebrows...

20180114_232543.jpg

ā€¢Then the body, putting some minor details on the scales and the dress.

20180114_233458.jpg

ā€¢Up next is the hair... And on the upper right corner Iā€™ve drawn a smaller circle using the compass, that is where I will be putting the half moon..
PhotoGrid_1516318886260.jpg

ā€¢Letā€™s get to the rectangular shape just below the circle... As for this part I will be sketching the word LIBRA.

20180115_002803.jpg
ā€¢Okay...so letā€™s put on some details.

PhotoGrid_1516322725450.jpg

ā€¢This is basically the outline of the drawing... By this time I will be putting on some more details by using the ballpen and the ruler. And now itā€™s time to trace the outline.. :)

received_1680963601968212.jpeg

ā€¢I started tracing the eyes, I kind a notice that the eyebrows are not well placed, so Iā€™ve done some minor fix using the pen..

Itā€™s a bit messy because of the mistakes Iā€™ve done using the pencil, but not to worry, Iā€™ll soon erase those to have a better image after I have traced the outline...

received_1680996078631631.jpeg

ā€¢And still tracing...

PhotoGrid_1516323467722.jpg

ā€¢Oh! and before I forgot I put on the logo of the steemit on the upper left side of the paper and on the lower left side the the symbol of the Libra.

ā€¢And then Iā€™ve continued on the tracing...

PhotoGrid_1516324271974.jpg
ā€¢A little more ...

received_1681029478628291.jpeg

ā€¢There it is...now for the cleaning up...putting the eraser into action..yey!!!:)

20180119_192044.jpg

ā€¢Done tracing and now itā€™s time to put the spotlight to the colored pencil...
PhotoGrid_1516337174178.jpg

ā€¢I have chose the colored pencil as a material for coloring on this drawing cause itā€™s fun to use. Colored pencil can dramatically change the color of your artwork depending on the stroke you make, the intensity or pressure you put on the pen, you can also do layering or blending of colors..itā€™s really really fun and exciting...:)

ā€¢Letā€™s start with her face and arms..As for this part I will be using the colors indian brown, chrome and some shades of black.
PhotoGrid_1516337497150.jpg

ā€¢Lemon for the dress...

received_1681052011959371.jpeg

ā€¢Another chrome for the hair...

received_1681052418625997.jpeg

ā€¢And for the scales I have to choose the metallic gold..

received_1681053208625918.jpeg

ā€¢Oh..and some minor fixes on the letters using the ballpen, just to emphasize the word..

PhotoGrid_1516338028795.jpg

ā€¢Notice how pale she is on the drawing?...no worries cause itā€™s just the first layer. I will soon add some details in a moment...

And then I proceed with the colors light violet and deep cobalt on the lower inner portion of the circle, the rectangular spaces just below the the dress.

PhotoGrid_1516338402904.jpg

As for the other half of those rectangular spaces Iā€™ve chose the colors chrome and red orange..For coloring this part, I applied a medium to hard pressure to give a fading effect.
20180119_175757.jpg

I am almost half way done. Next one is the half moon, as for this part Iā€™d say Iā€™ll go for colors lemon for the moon, deep cobalt and light violet for the side..

received_1681137008617538.jpeg
And now itā€™s time to put more colors on our character.

letā€™s go back to the scales this time I would still use the metallic gold but with a harder pressure and at the same time I added some shades of lemon.

received_1681141041950468.jpeg

next one is the dress I will still be using the color lemon with a medium to hard pressure to get a vibrant color on the dress.

received_1681270858604153.jpeg

then Iā€™ve blended the colors indian brown as a shading for the dress.

and then Iā€™ve turned to the hair...for the hair I choose the colors lemon, chrome, red orange and indian brown...chrome and lemon being my base layer and the red orange and indian brown as my shading.

PhotoGrid_1516357417612.jpg

as for the border I will be using the colors deep cobalt, light violet, lemon, chrome and red orange.

20180119_182603.jpg

as for the steemit logo I use the color olive green or apple green..

20180119_183045.jpg

and lastly Iā€™ve put on some shadings on the face with the color red orange. I have also outlined the libra symbol with a pen.

received_1681324151932157.jpeg

ā€¢Before I finish, I put on my username @ligaya on the lower right side of the paper.

received_1681682005229705.jpeg

So this finishes up my drawing. My patience finally pays of. Iā€™m quite satisfied on how the drawing turns out. Specially when I compare the picture of it when Iā€™m just starting from scratch.

That's my girl @ligaya...finally you do an art post as I was telling you always...Keep it up! And I hope to see more art post from you... :)

aww thank you! @Phantum04 yep magpopost uli :)

And it all started with a bowl. What amazes me in step by step creative process posts like this is if I follow it step by step, will I achieve the same outcome? I think if I try it we will have an expectations vs reality moment. haha. best leave that to the artists.

Ahahaha...thank you ma'am..yep!it all started with a bowl..the process is a bit long and I did'nt even know what the output will be. I appreciate the comment, Godbless!;)
