🐺 Draw me like one of your anime girls
I've never drawn anime, mostly because it was not a drawing style I enjoyed drawing.
But when I received my new Surface pro I asked Ambel for drawing suggestions.
Well she likes anime, so anime-fying her it was.
My first Anime drawing on my new Surface Pro
What do you think? Did I succeed? Do I deserve a beer? What can I improve?

Two beers! The tattoo work looks awesome, good job again buddy!
Thanks mate! the tattoo was hell tho... she has this extremely complex tattoo there... trying to mimic it as close as I could... damn hard. But 2 beers it is. (no worries, I'll get 3 I share)
It's a good job you got the skills to execute! I'm still amazed by digital art, looks so precise and neat. You enjoy them fella!
thanks man! What I love about digital art is the ctrl-z and the eraser haha :P it helps you fix a lot of mistakes
So how do you like the surface? I've heard good stuff about it. I think they're doing a colab with Wacom on it, aren't they? Heard that the sensitivity is pretty nice. Also, i like the drawing, the use of black and white is very nice :)
Well I started loving it, then it had some pen issues when drawing in photoshop (it still does... still trying to find out what the issue is exactly...). As far as I know they are not colabbing with Wacom (I might be VERY wrong), as in someway the surface pro is a competitor to the cintiq ( a bad one... but still).
I'm still getting the hang of it all never had a device to draw digital on like this... (altho I did have a normal wacom tablet once not sure where that one is.)
Thank you man! much appreciated
That looks awesome!
But it's not anime style. It's too complex. Anime is more simplified, for speed drawing.
It's more american cartoon style.
Have you ever seen the covers of manga and anime? They can get complex as no other. I have seen some absolutely crazy ones .
Thanks man! ah well it was still extremely fun to draw
Yeah, but when they do the complexity, they keep the style taken from the simplicity.
They can go quite wild tho and leave the style that the manga/anime is in quite behind
But I indeed tried to find a synergy between simplicity and complexity where in my opinion it would still qualify as anime but still had that tad extra that would make it fun to draw
I'd say this one is more complex than mine (Hell I wish I could draw this)
yeah, that's not really anime style. The eyes are a bit reminiscent of it. maybe the hair a little.
It's the cover of a Tokyo manga. Anime and manga do have mulyiple styles from simple to slightly more complex.
Although I might agree with you on this one... that they might have broken some "rules" of mange as it's the cover giving them more artistic freedom
yeah, they often spend a lot of time on the cover, and don't necessarily match the style with anything else.
I think that there is beauty in that simplicity of normal anime style though. especially when you realize that they've managed to develop all these art styles while killing themselves constantly to make deadlines.
That is true.
Well not only that. even tho it looks simple, it is still quite hard to achieve that simplicity and still portrait everything it portraits.
Anime is harder to draw than I expected
Resteem.
