Almond vanilla liquor
A couple of days ago I made a Limoncello liquor. At that time with real lemon and so on.
A few days later I got to speak with one of my friends, who works as a chef. We had some Amaretto (Italian liquor with almond taste) and wondered if we can make one too.
As I couldn't get any almond he brought up the brilliant idea to simple use some almond aroma. Why not :D for sure Amaretto company is using some similar recipe.
I want to make 200 ml and think for that I will need:
~one ampoul (~2 ml) of aroma with almond taste
~half of one ampoul (~1 ml) of aroma with vanilla taste
40 ml of pure 95° alcohol
210 ml of water edit: first I had 150 ml of water, but the arome smelled pretty strong, so I added another 60 ml of water. For the next time: use less aroma
40 gr of sugar
1st step: boil water and add the sugar
2nd step: mix the alcohol with the aroma
3rd step: when the sugar water is cooled down mix it with alcohol
Final result:
First taste is pretty good though :D
A bit fun how it suddenly got this milky color. Maybe some reaction with the sugar.
