Notes
What do you mean? The title is completely normal. You don't speak cryptography? On this track I practiced some heavy manipulation of samples using chopping, multiplying, removing, and reversing techniques. I've always wanted to experiment with that process, but wow, it's time intensive! Really fun, though. You wind up with a project looking like so:
I also automated some of the tracks pretty heavily on many parameters, including volume, panning, different variables for flanger, overdrive, echo, and bitcrusher. The bitcrusher parameters were definitely the most fun to mess with. It's a type of distortion; you can hear it on the snare part. Automation is when you draw lines for various aspects of a track so it will automatically change its value over time, which looks like this:
There are five instruments in this song, all patches from my Yamaha Montage. It's kick, snare, "wood bits," bass, and wah rhodes. They are doubled with one clean track and one distorted track. This type of music isn't everybody's cup of tea, but if you're into synthetic sounds with an organic edge, you should enjoy it. Have a great day and thanks for checking out my music!
