Shine (original)
This is a very crude demo of the song, "Shine" that we're currently in the studio, working on. The finished product will be freakin' awesome. But, I hope you can enjoy the demo also. The storytelling on this song is something I am very proud of.
Blessing and music to you!!!
Shine
Cassie, she sell records in a shop down by the beach
Saving every dollar in a jar that she keeps
She says, "One day I'm going to see the world, outside."
"And drink in the beauty of a New York City sky."
Oh yes, she does.
Jimmie he plays guitar, just outside the record shop.
He's got a case full of dollars that passersby would drop
Wishing she would listen to the words in his songs
Every one about the girl that he's been dreaming of
But sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
Years go passing by and she's still not made enough
But every nickel that Jimmie made, he's give to his love
He says, "If we go together, we can build another life."
"We'd find a way to make it, if you'd only be my wife."
"If you would."
Cassie's eyes fill with tears as she comes to realize
The lights of the city, could never be this bright
She's got all she ever wanted in the sand and the surf.
And the love of a man right in front of her.
And sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
Just a few years later, Cassie's sitting on the beach
Looking out over the waves at the child who's running free
She looks so much like her dad, she just couldn't understand
How she ever thought the city could replace the life she has
But sometimes, life waits to shine.
Until you're ready to see the light.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.
And then you shine. Shine on.

The real beautiful of compositions is bringing value and life lessons. This one does. Sometimes we keep on looking for that shining moment but not knowing that we are looking at the wrong direction. Though indeed, we all have the time to shine - in the right time.
Aside from the moral of the song, I like the combination of rock and a little country beat. Thank you for sharing this. I wonder if there is a real story behind the song or purely a product of creative mind.
Thank you so much for the kind words. It is just a scratch track. I'm going into the studio soon to start work on the actual song. I consider it some of my better storytelling. It is fictional, though. However, Cassie is a real person. She is actress Cassie Jaye. An old friend who I just wanted to give a little nod to. I do appreciate it when someone can see inside the song to it's core. :)
That's just a scratch? Wow! I am not good at determining sound effects so I thought that was already in a studio. Now I wonder how more beautiful it would sound in the studio.
Is this the Cassie Jaye you are referring to? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cassie_Jaye
I haven't heard of her in this part of the world but she looks like an amazing woman.

Thank you so much.
Yes, that's her. She's moving more into directing these days. Sweet young lady.
I'm just wanting everything perfect on this album. And I try to keep high standards. It's so cool that someone can see the diamond in the rough.
So extremely nice to meet you.

Keeping high standards is the way to be. 👍

This is really touching song, I like the music, would like to hear it in the final version, but its the story that hits me right in the gut! What an arc you tell in just a few short verses, its like they just grow up into mature loving adults right between my ears!
Thank you for sharing this with us on Steem!
